While staying alone in Puri in 1871, Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura composed a poem in glorification of Srila Haridasa Thakura at his Samadhi. The ninth verse is especially well-known:
He reasons ill who tells that Vaisnavas die
When thou art living still in sound.
The Vaisnavas die to live and living try
To spread the holy name around!
