"The idea of the Temple bus is to attract them aboard back to Krsna and the hippies and college students, anyone, will be very much attracted to the program. Now you have my full blessings, so go out and recruit some solid new devotees to help us push on this movement."
(Srila Prabhupada Letter, March 23, 1973)
"So now Krishna has sent you a nice bus, and you also have a good field for preaching. Chant, dance, distribute books and Prasadam and everything will increase automatically."
(Srila Prabhupada Letter, August 8, 1973)
"When I hear about the Sankirtan Buses that are moving all over the world then I think that we are becoming like a gigantic gorilla warfare movement fighting with maya. This traveling in buses is the best means to drive away maya and establish Krishna consciousness all over the world. After all the whole world is the property of Krishna, but temporarily it is being illegally occupied by maya's agents. Flood them with kirtan and books, this is the best weapon, increase the number of buses that will be your success."
(Srila Prabhupada Letter, August 28, 1973)
"I am happy to note that you are traveling and preaching, this process was also practiced by Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, in the beginning of his sanyas life he traveled all over India for almost six years and my Guru Maharaja also traveled, and similarly I am also traveling. One thing is that I do not know how practical it is to carry deities in the truck, by the jarring of the vehicle there may be some damage and also I think that it is not possible to keep the top standard of worship, cleanliness, punctual offerings etc. We must be very careful about deity worship, if it is neglectful then it is very offensive and that will not help us, we should not do it simply for show. My suggestion is that all our buses should be outfitted with the picture of Guru Gouranga, that will be quite nice. Main business of traveling buses is to distribute books profusely, what do you think?"
(Srila Prabhupada Letter, August 28, 1973)
"I am very glad to note your Sankirtana enthusiasm. These Volkswagen buses are very nice. This is real Sankirtana preaching."
(Srila Prabhupada Letter, September 30, 1973)
"Your bus program is a very nice idea, and I pray that by Krsna's grace you will have all success. Yes, you are correct that by distributing books, that income will be sufficient for all programs."
(Srila Prabhupada Letter, November 12, 1974)
"I am very glad to hear that not only you are maintaining such program but that you want to expand it. Yes, this is our philosophy; anandambuddhi vardhanam. It means to expand or to increase. Therefore I strongly encourage you to double your program by getting three more buses if you can do it. There is no difficulty."
(Srila Prabhupada Letter, December 28, 1974)
"I very much like these bus programs. They are greatly increasing the scope of our book distribution and many new men are being attracted."
(Srila Prabhupada Letter, July 5, 1975)
"They are chanting Hare Krishna also village to village in buses, so the propaganda work is going on nicely."
(Srila Prabhupada Letter, August 11, 1975)
"Your bus program sounds nice, it is approved by me."
(Srila Prabhupada Letter, December 22, 1975)
"This travelling SKP in buses carrying tents is very encouraging. It should be continued all over the country. One thing is that all the students on the party must strictly follow the rules and regulations. Cleanliness is most essential, rising early, taking bath, etc. It is not that because we are travelling that we can neglect our routine work and become irregular in our habits. No, we must make every effort to remain regulated and clean, this is the solid basis for our work. When our routine work, like chanting, reading books, nice arati, deity worship, etc., is very nice, then our preaching will have effect. That is the secret."
(Srila Prabhupada Letter, December 12, 1971)
"Here in Australia they have got one double-decker bus, like you have seen in London streets, and they have painted it very brightly, and as it moves there is kirtan party chanting very loudly inside, and on top floor there is sleeping space and kitchen. On the whole, it is so nice that I am suggesting Dayananda that he supply you and Krishna das with information, how you may purchase such busses in London and drive them all over European continent, and these "Hare Krishna Movement" buses will make us famous all over the world. I am enclosing one photo of their Australia bus in Sydney."
(Srila Prabhupada Letter, April 2, 1972)
"I am so glad to learn that your Sankirtana movement is going on nicely. In this part of the world also, we have got several buses which are going all over your country and doing nicely. Yesterday I have seen one Sankirtana bus presented by Rupanuga Maharaja, complete with kitchen, shower, and deity room. It is completely self-sufficient and can keep 8 to 10 men. Their program is to remain on the road going from town to town and village to village. Lord Caitanya wanted this business, so by the parampara system through my Guru Maharaja and my humble self, the matter is handed over to you. Now it is up to you American boys and girls to do the needful."
(Srila Prabhupada Letter, September 7, 1972)
