"If you want to know me, you can imagine so many things: 'Swamiji may be this. Swamiji may be that, like that, like this, like that.' They are all imperfect. But if I tell you about myself openly that 'I am like this,' then your knowledge is perfect."
(Srila Prabhupada Lecture, Nairobi, October 27, 1975)
"If you want to know me, then you must know about me from me. You can not speculate about me. If you speculate that 'Swamiji is so rich,' or 'Swami might have so much bank balance also,' or.... This is all speculation. But when I say that my bank balance is such and such, that is right knowledge."
(Srila Prabhupada Conversation, Los Angeles, June 4, 1976)
"You can go on thinking that Swamiji is... Like the other day Paul was speaking that somebody has informed that I have got fifteen children. Now, I do not know how one can understand that I have got fifteen children. I never told in this meeting, but he told me that somebody told him I have got fifteen children. This is misunderstanding. If I say... He asked me, 'Swamiji, how many children you have got?' I told him I have got at home three boys and two girls. And he told me that 'I understood that you have got fifteen children.' So that means, anyway, if you want to know about me, then you must know from me. That is authentic. That is authentic."
(Srila Prabhupada Lecture, New York, May 27, 1966)
"You have written that the devotees here say that you cannot know me, but only Kirtanananda Maharaja can know me. But, if Kirtanananda is a disciple and he can know me, and you are also a disciple, why you cannot know me?"
(Srila Prabhupada Letter, July 20, 1974)
